• can remember opposites through touch (hot/cold; hard/soft)

• understands some differences (Mommy’s coat/Baby’s coat)

• can begin to judge the size of objects up to 3 feet ( .9m) away

• understands phrases if they’re part of routines so when you

go into the bathroom she understands, “It’s time for a bath”

• understands that “No!” means stop, don’t do it, or don’t touch

• shows determination and reaches for a toy she really wants;

she’s persistent and may cry with

frustration if she’s unsuccessful

• plays with her toys, examining and

concentrating on them at length

• is becoming very assertive about

showing she wants to feed herself .
